It is a beautiful synthetic diamond made from a loved one’s cremated ash or lock of hair. The company are part of a worldwide organisation who have been using ash to create diamonds, turning the ash into memorial keepsakes since 2001 and have helped over 3000 families.
How it works
Life Gem will visit your home to collect the ashes, or alternatively your funeral director will do this for you at no extra cost. We need a MAXIMUM of 200 grams of cremated ash, and we only ever need 50% of the ash, leaving the rest for internment or to scatter as you wish.
The carbon is extracted and once captured, is turned to graphite with unique characteristics and elements that will create your unique diamond. You can choose the carat and cut of the finished diamond.
The graphite is heated and pressed for about 24 weeks and the diamond forms. The diamond is certified by the world renowned gemologists trained by the Gemological Institute of America
